ITEM: cylinder head, 125k
DESCRIPTION:
This cylinder head was removed from a 2000 Z3 2.3 Roadster with ~125k miles. The camshafts and bearing ledges are included as shown. The head will fit M52TU and M54 engines. The camshafts will ONLY work on M52TU, M54B25 and M56B25 engines. The cams will need to be swapped to work in a M54B30 engine. The block to head mating surface was checked and shows no measurable warp and no visible cracks. The intake valves are very clean, and the exhaust valves have carbon buildup, but I see no damage. The cooling passages are smooth with no heavy buildup. Many exhaust manifold studs are missing and will need to be replaced. Some of the camshaft caps have been removed to inspect the camshafts. Some of the bearing surfaces had some scoring deep enough to be felt by a passing fingernail. The cam caps that were removed were NOT torqued to spec. PLEASE RE-TORQUE THE CAM CAPS BEFORE INSTALLATION. Details can be viewed in the photos. Guaranteed good working condition. This is a used original BMW part.
