DESCRIPTION:
This engine block was taken from a 1983 533i that had an engine swap from an E24. I'm not sure how many miles are on the engine block, but it is likely around 250k miles. The production date is in April of 1986. The cast part number is 1287639. The pistons and crankshaft are not included. The cylinder #2 lining has several moderate scrapes around the top of the cylinder. These are deep enough to be felt by my passing fingernail. A repair is likely required. The other linings are smooth and undamaged. Original honing marks are visible, throughout. The cooling passages are clean and smooth. One of the mounting holes is cracked and seriously damaged at the left rear edge of the block. This mounting point was unused in the E28 that this block was used in. It was apparently not a transmission mounting point. The housing exterior has some minor paint and rusting issues, but there is no serious damage. Details can be viewed in the photos. This is a used original BMW part.
