ITEM: dmg'd engine block, 44k
DESCRIPTION:
This engine block was taken from a 2009 M3 Coupe with ~44k miles. The pistons and crankshaft are not included. The engine block has serious damage. There is a large crack on the right side, several of the oil filter housing bolts are broken off inside the block, the top filter housing bolt hole is cracked and broken off of the block, the two small front bolts for the bank 1 cylinder head are broken off in the cylinder head. There is a chunk of aluminum broken off, dents and scrapes, and a bent bolt at the lower right side. One of the interior mounting points for the bank 1 lower timing chain tensioner is broken off and must be repaired. The engine block will require a fair amount of welding and re-tapping. Otherwise, the cylinder linings are very smooth and have only a few very small and light scuffs. There are no deep scrapes. The cooling passages are clean and smooth. The main bearings are healthy.
