DESCRIPTION:
This steering rack was taken from a fire-damaged 2011 M3 Convertible with unknown mileage. The car had an engine fire that damaged the steering rack. The plastic exterior parts like the cap on the input, and the servotronic solenoid, are melted and must be replaced. It is likely the steering rack needs a complete rebuild. The rack moves a little bit by hand, but it gets bound up. This may be because I can't get a great grip on the input shaft, and there is some melted plastic blocking the rotation. I don't see any rusting, so it is not likely a mechanical seize. The housing has no cracks and all of the mounting points are intact. The tie rods are not included.
