ITEM: dmg'd bank 2 cylinder head, 79k
DESCRIPTION:
This cylinder head was removed from a running 2019 M5 Competition with ~79k miles. This is the Bank 2 cylinder head for the left driver side of the engine serving cylinders 5 through 8. The camshafts are not included, but the valves are included as shown. Several intake camshaft bearing surfaces show scoring from oil starvation. The worst damage is on the #2 intake camshaft bearing surface where the scoring can be felt with a fingernail and shows some discoloration. Other intake cam surfaces have lighter scuffs and wear spots. The valvetronic cam surfaces show minor wear, while the exhaust camshaft surfaces are mostly smooth and undamaged. The block to head mating surface was checked and has no measurable warp or visible cracks. The mark near the injector port on cylinder 1 shown in the photo is debris and not a crack. The valve faces are undamaged. The cooling passages are clean. The housing has no cracks. Details can be viewed in the photos. This is a used original BMW part.
