DESCRIPTION:
This rear final drive differential carrier was taken from a 2017 540i with ~162k miles. The drive ratio is 2.93 and this is an open differential. The pinion has excessive ring and pinion backlash and the pinion rotates about 1 to 2 degrees before engaging the ring gear. Once engaged rotation is smooth and quiet and no considerable runout is noted. The input flange is undamaged. The housing has no serious corrosion and all mounting points are intact. The rear cover is not included. Details can be viewed in the photos. Guaranteed good working condition. This is a used original BMW part.
