Recommended Vendors

Aug 16th 2023

Sometimes, we find ourselves inundated with questions from friends regarding who we trust with our vehicles, so we’ve decided to compile a list of BMW-related vendors and other local specialists. This list covers everything from new BMW parts to tuning, as well as service shops and vehicle transportation, and we’re excited to recommend them to you. These are all vendors that we use on both a business and a personal level, and we would trust them with any of our vehicles – even our most precious BMW M cars!

Information Resources

RealOEM.com

One of the most worthwhile resources that every BMW owner should know about is RealOEM.com. Users can search by VIN, or they can manually input the vehicle’s information into the site to access diagrams, part numbers, and information on whether the part is still manufactured. Though the site can sometimes be hard to navigate, it more than makes up for it in its usefulness.

New Parts

GetBMWParts.com

GetBMWParts, a division of BMW of Silver Spring, offers the full dealer catalog of OEM BMW parts, as well as the same diagrams and part numbers that RealOEM provides. They offer OEM BMW parts for purchase at a deep discount, with most priced 25% to 45% off list. They will also match pricing with any US BMW dealership or online store with the same parts.

FCPEuro.com

FCPEuro sells both OEM BMW parts and comparable aftermarket items, along with parts for other European makes. Every single FCP part comes with a lifetime replacement warranty, and they also have fantastic customer service, online video tutorials, and in many cases – quick and free shipping.

Coding

Kassel PerformanceYork, PA

Kassel Performance creates customized Digital Motor Electronics (DME) for almost all BMW models. They specifically offer their services towards enthusiasts, especially those performing engine swaps on older chassis. We recommend consulting Kassel for programming our used modules to your vehicle. They provide remote services, so they can work on your vehicle no matter where you live. The company also offers performance tuning and various swap-related items, such as mounts, adapters, and swap-ready DMEs.

CodeMyCar - Wyckoff, NJ

CodeMyCar focuses mostly on customizing coding options for newer BMW models, which finds them routinely traveling the east coast to perform work, though they also end up in other locations in the United States and Canada as well. CodeMyCar also performs remote coding services and offers free re-coding if customizations are inadvertently lost or removed.

Service

Once you’ve researched what parts you are going to buy and purchased them, you might need someone to help with installation. There’s nothing wrong with calling upon a trusted professional for quality work on your prized vehicle, and luckily, we have a few recommendations for local, Pennsylvania-based service shops.

Bavarian Specialties – King of Prussia, PA

Bavarian Specialties has been tweaking and repairing BMW road and race cars since 1979. They are a great shop for both regular owners and racers, providing service for Concours-quality BMWs and also helping track aficionados win races, thanks to their serious proficiency with custom engine building and chassis setup.

German Auto Specialists - Norristown, PA

German Auto Specialists is an authorized Bosch Service Center location that has been in business since 1981. They can perform a wide variety of tasks on both old and new vehicles, such as mechanical repairs, inspections, detailing, and tire services. Additionally, they work on all types of German vehicles, including Mercedes-Benz and Porsche models.

Hassan’s Auto Service – Norristown, PA

Hassan’s Auto Service is a shop located on Germantown Pike that specializes in BMW-related repairs. Once a family operation, the shop is now run exclusively by the son Moe, who previously was a long-term BMW dealer tech. They offer reasonable pricing and quality repairs, which often results in a busy schedule, so we recommend getting on their calendar as early as you can.

Brandywine Motor Works – West Chester, PA

Given its acronym, it’s not too surprising that Brandywine Motor Works is a BMW-only shop. Two former dealer techs run the shop, and they offer over 50 years of combined experience without the insane price tag.

Main Line Motorsport - Exton, PA

From Maintenance to Racecars, they do it all. Main Line Motorsport works on BMW and Porsche in a super clean shop, and are experienced in working on M engines.

Baltyka Imports - Souderton, PA

Baltyka Imports is a jack-of-all-trades who specializes in vintage BMW’s (including M Cars), as well as Mercedes-Benz vehicles. This shop provides its customers with all types of different work, including routine maintenance, full restoration, part installs, performance upgrades, track day preparation and more. Additionally, Baltyka Imports offers parts and complete turn-key vehicles for sale.

Towing

Though it is always nice to drive your vehicle to receive service, what if you require (or prefer) having it towed?

Elliott’s TowingSassamansville, PA

We use Elliott’s Towing to pick up and deliver BMW models to our shop, and do not doubt that they can take your car where it needs to go. Some towing companies cut corners, resulting in damaged bumpers and other items, but Elliott’s attention to detail allows us to trust them with our most valuable vehicles.

We hope you found this list of recommendations useful!
